Tom Geggie practices in the corporate and real estate law areas. The focus of his practice is on corporate governance for small and medium-sized firms. He also has broad experience in a wide range of real estate transactions and financings. Mr. Geggie was a member of the Ford Motor Company Office of the General Counsel for 30 years. He worked on the Renaissance Center development in Detroit, Michigan through all of its phases and on the Fairlane Development in Dearborn, Michigan, a 2300-acre residential, commercial and industrial development on Ford property surrounding the Ford headquarters. Mr. Geggie headed the Ford Real Estate Practice Group for 12 years. During that time he was responsible for the delivery of legal services to Ford and its subsidiaries (including Company-owned dealerships) throughout North America. He handled or supervised the legal aspects of significant industrial and commercial real estate transactions throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. While at Ford, Mr. Geggie also handled major domestic and international purchasing and financing transactions, including public financings and the debt restructuring of a number of Ford’s foreign subsidiaries. As a key principal in Borda, Lorenz & Geggie, Mr. Geggie continues to provide counseling to start-up and established businesses and to individuals in the corporate and real estate practice areas. He has primary responsibility for the real estate practice of the firm and has developed an active estate planning practice.
